I finally figured out my word for 2024: SALES

I know that sounds cringe. Hear me out.

I think Generative AI has actually been bad for me, my well-being, and my business.

Ever since Chat GPT came out, I've mainly used it as a thought partner to come up with new creative ideas.

A THOUSAND ideas. Novel. Innovative. Boundary pushing ideas. I've spent hours per day dreaming, writing, thinking, collaborating.

As powerful of an initiative that has been for me as a thought leader, You know what that's distracted me from doing? Core business activities.

SELLING.
Building Relationships.
Understanding the problems in the market that need to be solved.

I signed up for premium Chat GPT February 10th of 2023.

In Q1 I facilitated or spoke at 24 events/experiences.

Q2 was slower, Q3 was slowerer, Q4 was slowest.

I’ve taken my eye off the ball. I’ve become stagnant.

My head is filled with all these new ideas, but my heart is empty from a lack of meaningful service of others.

The work I do in human connection is the work that saved my life.

At my loneliest hour 8 years ago, I decided to host a dinner party bringing 15 of my friends together, that didn’t know each other, for a simple bowl of pasta.

The connections sparked at that very first dinner morphed into a decade-long journey helping the world’s largest companies solve the crisis of disconnection and epidemic of loneliness within their workplaces.

It’s time to get back to that.
It’s time to put myself back out there.
Chase rejection.
Strike up wonderful partnerships.

It’s time to start living again.

My journey with Generative Ai is nowhere close to being finished, I just think I need to set better boundaries.

My future hope is that our pursuit of advanced intelligence does not inadvertently erode our most valuable life and business skill – human connection.
